UNPRI & IEEE Blockchain Indonesia to Host Webinar on Blockchain with Prof. Andry Alamsyah

Medan, Indonesia – August 2025 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), in collaboration with IEEE Blockchain Indonesia, is proud to announce an upcoming international webinar exploring the intersection of blockchain technology and the healthcare sector. The event, scheduled to take place virtually via Zoom between late September and early October 2025, will bring together academics, professionals, and students to discuss how blockchain can transform healthcare through data integrity, patient privacy, transparency, and efficiency.
As a highlight of the event, Prof. Andry Alamsyah, a leading scholar in digital business strategy and blockchain innovation, has been invited as a distinguished guest speaker.
Prof. Andry is a Professor of Digital Business Strategy at Telkom University, founder of the Social Computing and Big Data Laboratory (Lab SCBD), and President of the Indonesian Data Scientist Association (AIDI). He is also an Honorary Member of the Indonesian Blockchain Association (ABI) and a Faculty Member of the Bank Indonesia Institute. Currently, he serves as Chair of the AI Committee at Telkom University and a member of the national team drafting Indonesia’s Artificial Intelligence Roadmap under Kominfo/Komdigi.
Keynote Topic:
“Blockchain, Web3, and the Token Economy: Opportunities for Innovation and Value Creation in Indonesia”
In his talk, Prof. Andry will explore blockchain’s evolution beyond cryptocurrency into a foundation for the digital economy. The session will highlight how the token economy creates new models for value distribution and governance, with applications in:
Operational Efficiency : blockchain-based traceability for supply chain transparency, trust, and sustainability.
Innovation and Growth : tokenized assets, carbon credits, bonds, decentralized finance (DeFi), and decentralized social media.
For Indonesia, these opportunities are especially promising given its vibrant startup ecosystem and rapid fintech adoption. Prof. Andry will present case studies and pathways where blockchain can serve as infrastructure and catalyst for Indonesia’s digital future.
