This website, and in general this community is a think space of seasoned professionals specifically trained and positioned to make a difference in design and development of blockchain technology.
But what is blockchain? Blockchain is more than cryptocurrency; it is a technological foundation to a new way of conducting transactions, securing networks, and recording the validity and origin of data. Blockchain will allow a new perspective on how humans interact to society’s challenges, touching upon everything from financial transactions, energy trading, carbon emission trading, protection and easy access to healthcare records, to the protection of the valued assets of corporations and nation states.
Members of the IEEE Blockchain Technical Community will have access to valuable information and resources including the IEEE Blockchain web portal, e-newsletters, conferences, educational opportunities, publications, standards development, and more. These assets will keep the professionals at the forefront of new developments in this multidisciplinary technology space as the research, development, planning, and deployment of blockchain and its applications move forward.
